Styling Subcouture

This Friday saw a new release of Subcouture! This store is one of my favorites, so I was super-excited to see what the collection would include! I was very surprised to see a variety of brands including I.Am.Gia, Martine Rose and personal favorite Adam Selman.

For my first outfit, I chose two of the pieces by I.Am.Gia, the mesh long sleeve and snakeskin pants. The pants are such a statement piece and totally remind me of something Britney or Xtina would wear during the 2000s. I paired the two pieces with a slouchy denim jacket, clear heels and some gold jewelry. You could switch the long sleeve for a white crop top. With my next outfit, I chose this amazing menswear jacket inspired by Martine Rose Spring 2019. When paired with classic mom jeans, the look is very reminiscent of the outfits worn on a 90s show such as My So Called Life! Instead of going all-out with the '90s look, I chose some clear Miu Miu boots, with the khaki matching the jacket, a brown leather bag and a vintage style Gucci t-shirt. For the '90s look I would swap the Gucci t-shirt for a plain one, and swap the boots for a pair of Dr. Martens.

For both of my final outfits, I chose more pieces inspired by I.Am.Gia! I was especially excited when I saw these as I love neon green. With the first outfit, I styled the one-piece with a slouchy jacket, choker and chunky boots, and a waist pack worn across the body. You could also add a t-shirt or fishnet top underneath, or style the one-piece completely differently and wear it tucked into pants or a skirt. With my final outfit, I chose the leather two-piece, styling it with a cut-out t-shirt, white boots and a matching leather backpack. I love how different the waist detail is, and looks really good with a pair of boxers showing.
