Personality Profile: ENTP

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”

(Foreword: To those who missed the introductory post and were wondering what this is about, this is part of a collaboration with AnannyaT. I will be writing about 8 MBTI types, and she will write about the other 8. Enjoy!)

ENTPs are some of the most innovative, intelligent people in this world. They can be described as ‘the ultimate devil’s advocate’, strong debaters. I personally only know one ENTP that I’m aware of.  Although he is extremely quick-thinking, and delights in debates which I would consider energy sapping, this ENTP is also a positive thinker and very forward-focused, also a popular trait among other ENTPs.

Their extremely open outlook on life exists as a result of their dominant function, Ne, or Extraverted Intuition, meaning they maintain an eye out for the many possibilities of the future. By combining the use of their innovative visions and astounding intellect, it’s no wonder ENTPs continue to spread their groundbreaking influence throughout the world.

ENTPs are like free spirits, impulsive and despising everyday routine, which can cause some trouble when having to deal with the technicalities of the world. They also easily get caught in procrastination, unable to focus on the task at hand due to their need to keep all opportunities open.

However, their resourcefulness and energy make up for this lost time. They share unique, original work which can be both logical and abstract. ENTPs are great communicators, very creative and very successful when they learn to harness their functions.

ENTPs: Thomas Edison, Céline Dion, Walt Disney, Jim Halpert from The Office, Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones
