Skin Guides: Oily Skin

Hello, dolls!

Today marks a three-part series covering a basic skincare routine for the main three types of skin: oily, combination, and dry. The best way to care for your skin is to have a routine tailored towards your skin type - and today, oily skin is getting a makeover! If you have oily skin, you can tell if you put a piece of tissue paper or thin paper on your forehead and it sticks.

Cleanser:
Use an oil-free cleanser at least once a day to remove impurities and unclog pores. Fruit-based cleansers, such as grapefruit, are great cleaners for the skin, and there are lots of them around.

Toner:
Toner is especially important for people with oily skin, as it often comes with bigger pores. Use a cleaning toner to remove any remaining dirt the cleanser missed with a cotton pad.

Moisturiser:
So many people with oily skin think moisturising makes their skin oilier - but it's an essential step! Just use an oil free moisturiser, which will make sure your skin is hydrated without looking extra shiny. These moisturisers are usually thinner than normal.

Mask / Treatment:
Salicylic acid is one the best ingredients for acne-prone skin. Use a mask or exfoliant one to three times a week to really clear out your pores - not more, however, as it can strip the skin of the good oils it needs!

There you have it - skin care for oily skin. Look out for the next two skin types!
