Phoenix Makeup Look

Hello, dolls!

Today's makeup look takes inspiration from the phoenix, a mythical bird associated with fire. The colours are bold, dramatic and exciting.

Eyes: Start off by using a burgundy or red shadow across the lid, and a lighter shade such as brown or orange from the middle of the lid to the inner corners. A shimmery shadow will create focus on the eyes. Darken the outer corners and edge of the waterline with the first shadow. A similar coloured eye pencil is a great alternative to soften the edges. Eyeliner uses three separate colours for this look - brown, black and white. Start by lining the upper and lower lashline in brown eyeliner - complimenting the eyeshadow. Use white eyeliner in the inner corners to open up the eyes, and finish off with a sharp black wing. Add mascara if you wish.

Lips: For lips, choose an bold shade. I chose red, however, a deep orange, burgundy and similar colours work perfectly. Add some extra gloss if you desire.

Face: For this look, I chose to forgo blush and focus more on the highlight and contour- try and be subtle as to not create too many harsh lines. Use a pearly white on the cheekbones, with sweeps of a bronzer underneath. If you wish to highlight your brow bone, select a shadow that's a highlighter shade and brush the shadow along the browbone. For highlight and contour, I can't stress enough picking a shade that is right for your skin tone.
