The History of Halloween

Hello Starblog readers! Haley here, to fill you in on the history of the very fun and popular spooky holiday: Halloween.

As some of you may already know, Halloween was once known as All Hallows' Eve. It's the one night a year where the veil between the living and the dead is most thinnest.

It's also when children dress up in costumes and go door-to-door for candy. This is known as trick-or-treating ;)

It's actually thought that this holiday started as a Celtic festival of Samhain, where bonfires were lit and people dressed in costumes to ward off evil spirits.
