When you heard that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were getting divorced, did you think first of their
Gucci clad kids or the fate of their Kohl’s collection? If it’s the latter, don’t worry.
Kohl’s released a statement this morning promising that neither collection will suffer just because the relationship’s over. Apparently, they have separate contracts. In November, when Kohl’s announced their partnership with the crooning couple, they were thrilled to be the first brand to introduce a collection designed by a married couple. Though their merchandise separately targeted men and women, they were sold and marketed as a package deal. Now, Kohl’s tells WWD, “The Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony brands have always been positioned as two separate, distinctive collections.” It’s a good thing, too, since Kohl’s has high hopes for both lines and set their profit goals quite high—that, and the collections don’t even hit stores until fall.
