Hot or Not? Styling Snakeskin

Hi Dolls!

Today, I want you to answer this question, "Do you follow fashion trends, and should trends should be followed at all?"

If there is anything I can recall from the latest cycles in fashion throughout the 2010s, it is that the '90s have played a major role in today's industry. From neon colors, to soft-punk and neo-grunge, and now the resurgence of what popstars and hip hop stars wore at the turn of the 20th century. Fashion has turned to the streets, and designers seem to be inclusive.

Fashion lovers reading this already know how often trends reflect the desire of people and what makes comebacks due to time cycles. One such trend is the use of the snakeskin pattern. Snake leather is often regarded as an exotic product.

If we delve into details of the horrors behind animal cruelty, this would be a very long post. In a nutshell, hundreds of thousands of pythons are poached in countries like Malaysia and Indonesia, and then brutally 'skinned' alive for their skin. The same happens to many other reptiles species. This is just a friendly little reminder to do your own little search and see for yourself what this looks like.

Before I digress, this pattern is quite a tricky one to style. So, I will let you dolls be the judges! Below you can see how I mixed textiles and accent colors such as red and yellow to really make this print pop with the new IT GIRLS snakeskin top. I've come to the conclusion that black pleather is the best thing to pair with an imitation snakeskin top. (Please never resort to buying the real thing!)

Gold and yellow make great accent colors, and when paired with high-wasted pants, you have a match made in heaven. These outfits feature Versace and Miu Miu inspired accesories.

If you prefer to use the fall as an excse to darken your wardrobe, you can never go wrong with earth tone coats, and I love how pleather pants and red colors complement this top.

This is probably my favorite iteration of a 90s take on the snakeskin top trend.
The LE trousers give it a masculine twist. To finish off this look, put on a paper boy hat!

UP NEXT: BUCKET HATS... Message me if you've styled your doll in buckets hats and let me know what you think of bucket hats below, best comments will be featured!
