Meet The Ramadan!

hace 60 meses

Hello to everyone,

I've been aware that the posts I have written for the Turkish blog also appear to you for a few days. There was an error in starblog when it should be published only to the Turks and my posts were published to you all. That's why I've had too many reactions from you. Those who wanted me to write my posts in English. I have prepared a post about "Ramadan" for you.

What is Ramadan?
According to the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is the ninth month of the year. All Muslims spend Ramadan with fasting.
What is fasting?
Fasting is a worship performed by staying away from food, drink, bad words and bad thoughts until sunset.
What is Iftar?
Iftar is the name of the meal that is eaten after the evening prayer.
What is Suhoor?
Suhoor is the meal that Muslims eat until the İmsak.
One of the first things that comes to mind when they say Suhoor is Ramadan drummer.
Ramadan drummer is a person who walks through the streets at night in Ramadan, during which Muslims are fasting, and who awakens people with a drum sound. This practice in Turkey held in Ramadan has become a tradition which continues since the Ottoman era.
In the photo below you can see what the Ramadan drummer looks like.

I hope it was an informative post for you. :)
