According to a very close insider, the couple has chosen the extremely powerful Oprah Winfrey to be the godmother. The godfather is Jay-Z's best friend, famous rapper Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith. Bey and Jay said that they want the godparents to be someone who's not already related to them, that's why Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles wasn't considered. But Oprah Winfrey and Tyran Smith - they must be the coolest godparents a child could have, right? Wow! (mediatakeout)

Fashion houses have been sweating it up, and the invites are already rolling in. In less than two weeks, the fashion world will take over New York City for one of the year’s most anticipated events: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, running from February 9 to February 16. Designers, celebrities, editors, and fashion lovers will all flock to the tents at Lincoln Center to get a first look at the spring/summer collections. This marks Whitney Eve’s first solo show at NYFW, and we’re curious to see what the former reality TV star/budding designer is cooking up. Her line boasts eclectic, girly pieces as well as androgynous, menswear-inspired looks—all styled with an array of unique patterns and colors. According to Port, her collection has “grown so much over the years.” Here’s hoping this year brings some good changes!

Last month, Sandro sent out invitations to their New York Fashion Week party, in honor of the Bleecker Street store that opened late last year. Upon RSVP, there was mention of Dree Hemingway. Turns out the model (and famous literary spawn) has designed a ten piece capsule collection for the French brand. The boho collection was inspired by Hemingway’s youth, spent in Idaho, and—from the t-shirt at left—looks very Isabel Marant-like. Look for the collection in stores this spring. Meanwhile, Hemingway’s also been tapped to host a dinner in honor of Dannijo alongside ManRepeller’s Leandra Medine as a kick off to New York Fashion Week. Wonder if we’ll see her on any runways this season?

- Kim Kardashian is everywhere, but she never actually does anything, right? Wait, now she is! Kim just landed a role in Lifetime's series 'Drop Dead Diva'. She's set to play the role of Nikki, Stacy's (April Bowlby) partner in a new business venture in the series. "I'm ecstatic to welcome Kim to the Diva family,” creator and executive producer Josh Berman said. “In discussing the role of Nikki with her, I'm blown away by her smarts, sense of humor and passion." If you're an Alexander McQueen fan like me then you will be familiar with the recent Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The collection is filled with gold, silver, black and dusky pink styled outfits. Sarah Burton the creative director of Alexander McQueen had this to say about the collection "This is a collection about excess - an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme" So I've decided to recreate some of the looks from the collection on stardoll. - Katy Perry just made her first her first US appearance since her break up with husband Russell Brand at 1 OAK nightclub to host Friday night’s GiveLove charity event in Las Vegas. She held on tight to jewelry designer and co-host Markus Molinari, and they really seemed to enjoy each others company! They hugged and held hands during the whole evening...But before you conclude that there may be something going on between them, we must add that Markus was kind enough to assure reporters at the event that they are nothing more than just friends. Markus told People that Katy was kind enough to help out his GiveLove cause because “that’s what friends do.” But seriously, they really they seemed to enjoy working with each other, don't you think?(celebuzz)
