Southern beats aren’t just all banjos and harmonicas, though the brothers of NEEDTOBREATHE do play mean ones. Hailing from Seneca, South Carolina, the rock band comprised of Bear Rinehart (vocals, guitar, piano ), Bo Rinehart (vocals, guitar), and childhood friends Seth Bolt (backing vocals, bass) and Joe Stillwell (drums) is taking the world by storm—if not by their Southern charm, then by touring with Taylor Swift and their soon-to-be-released fourth record, The Reckoning, out September 20th. We had the pleasure of speaking with the Rinehart gentlemen about their “incredibly country” childhood, learning from Elvis, and the struggle to find manly guy’s jewelry. If their Southern accents don’t hook you, their music will.

Yesterday was the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards and we spotted all of our fave fashionistas! We noticed that almost every single celeb was rocking the updo! And while most celebs usually opt for a formal updo, we noticed something different at the Emmy's this year: the updos were super casual! We saw romantic bangs on Kate Winslet and a messy bun on Katie Holmes, and we loved Aimee Teegarden's hair! Click on the pics to see unusual updos! Which was your fave?

There are a handful of fashion photographers who dominate the campaigns seasons after season: Mert & Marcus, Steven Meisel, Mario Testino—one hears the same names over and over, and for good reason. But this season, Tim Walker’s joining the club. Valentino‘s hired the British photographer, known for his extravagant, fairy-tale like images, to shoot their RED campaign for fall. Walker shot Polish model Daga Ziober at Copped Hall, a mansion just outside of London. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli told WWD that “the carefree, highly poetic universe perfectly represents the values of the brand.”

Pretty Little Liars cutie, Ashley Benson, looks super cute with minimal make up, a cozy grey tee, black skinnies, and a black leather jacket! Her shopping style is so great, we might just copy her!

We’ve seen some pretty crazy runway shows: Chanel did icebergs, Band of Outsiders had models repel from the ceiling, Louis Vuitton built elevators inside a tent in the Louvre’s courtyard, but we never imagined we’d see a runway show on a cake. It’s not that fashion and cake don’t mix (see Burberry this season, Isaac Mizrahi last), it’s just that models have it hard enough without adding frosting to the mix. But on Thursday Daffy’s is staging a runway show on a 10 foot tall cake made by Vincent Buzzetta, the star of Staten Island Cakes. It’ll be held in Greeley Square Park—apparently, there is a park in Herald Square?—to celebrate its 40th birthday. Guests will get cake (duh!) as well as a discount. Starts at 5PM!

There's an old rule that says you shouldn't wear white after Labor Day (the first Monday of September) but apparently Selma Blair doesn't care! And you know what? We like a girl who breaks the rules of fashion! Selma looks totally comfy and we love her modern black and white style!

If you’re like us, you’ve already rid your grandmother’s closet of its vintage gems.  You’ve taken scarves, bags, skirts and maybe even blouses, but avoided that padded wall of Easy-Spirit shoes. But now, according to the London shows we’ve seen so far, that closet holds another trendy stockpile of accessories. Footwear for the AARP set is now equally fit for the fashionable jet set and have topped off sharp suits and girly dresses all week long. Thomas Tait’s brigade of minimal warriors wore immaculate running shoes while J.W. Anderson worked utility sneakers (with golf shoe accents) into his collection. At ACNEand Fashion East, white nurse clogs were a quirky foil to soft organza skirts and dresses. Aquascutum also offset their flowy fare with some senior flair: a pointed loafer in that inimitable bone suede. Scottish darling Christopher Kane took note from Prada Sport’s popular 90′s styles and paired his tailored femininity with clunky flat sandals.
