Designer Kimberly Ovitz. 
Ever wonder what a designer does all day?  We asked the recent New York  transplant Kimberly Ovitz to write it all down—and show us a day in her  life!  
850AM 
The dogs, Matzo ball and Lox, and I walk to work two blocks from my  apartment in downtown New York. 
9AM 
I get to the office in Tribeca on the edge of Chinatown, we just moved  into our New York office earlier this year.  
930AM 
The company got to New York in March and we had no home for a few  months. The new offices are beautiful but we are already growing out of  them! 
10AM 
Grab a venti nonfat cappuccino from the neighborhood Starbucks and begin  returning emails. 
11AM 
I touch base with all departments to see if there is anything that is a  priority or a time sensitive matter. 
NOON 
This year I finally brought all departments in house so it is an amazing  experience having them all right by my side. 
1PM 
Take dogs out for a walk around the block for a bathroom break. 
2PM 
Order in lunch at my desk from Souen – yummy fresh ingredients that I  miss coming from Log Angeles. I continue to do emails or work on a  little animal welfare projects. 
3PM 
Meet with my digital media consultant, she’s been with me since before I  moved to NYC, we discuss upcoming social media initiatives and  e-commerce for my resort ’11 and spring/summer ’12 collections. 
330PM 
Work with my awesome pattern maker (she moved with me from LA) on  sketches after I drape a style from the upcoming fall/winter 2012  collection. 
5PM 
Go to the FIT library and the MET to research the collection inspiration  further. 
730pm 
Leave the office as along as it’s not around or close to market/show  time, otherwise I’m here much later. 
745PM 
Drop off the dogs at home. 
8PM 
Meet a friend for dinner at Extra Virgin in the West Village.
