THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING

BY ASHLEY ELSTON
HYPERION TEENS

She's been six different people in six different places: Madeline in Ohio, Isabelle in Missouri, Olivia in Kentucky... But now that she's been transplanted to rural Louisiana, she has decided that this fake identity will be her last. Witness Protection has taken nearly everything from her and she has just about had it with all of the Suits' rules. And it's not like she can count on Ethan Landry, an adorable Louisiana farm boy who's too smart for his own good. As they embark on a perilous journey to free her family once and for all, Meg discovers that there's only one rule that really matters—survival.

Ashley Elston is the daughter of an attorney and grew up surrounded by talk of court cases, crazy clients, and the law in general – all of which triggered the ideas in THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING. Celebrity Lookalike: On a good day, my hair looks like Sarah Jessica Parker’s in that shampoo commercial. On a bad day, it looks like that mug shot of Nick Nolte from 2002. And when I talk, I sound like Reese Witherspoon in SWEET HOME ALABAMA.
Motto: Don’t ever take yourself too seriously.
5 Must Reads:
I love both of Veronica Roth’s books, DIVERGENT and INSURGENT, for the action and world building. Time travel is another element I love in a book and Tamara Ireland Stone’s TIME BETWEEN US was perfect. If you’re looking for a creepy thriller, FRACTURE by Megan Miranda will keep you turning pages. And for a fun, romantic read, I adored Stephanie Perkins’ ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS.
The one thing your author can’t live without: My family!
