Istanbul, the capitol of Turkey, is full of fashion trendsetters.  National Covergirl, Melisya, told me all about Turkish style and flair.  Read on to see how you can capture the look too! 

Lizzy:  What makes Turkish style special?

Melisya:  Turkish style is a mixture of East meets West.  We love color and embellishments.  Suits, shirts, mini dresses, high heeled shoes, even jeans and t-shirts are all popular. 

Lizzy:  Are trends important?

Melisya:  Always! You can find all the designers and brands here.  People from all over the world shop here because the prices are less expensive than elsewhere.

Lizzy:  How would you describe your personal style?

Melisya:  While working, I wear a jacket, skirt and blouse.   I like my jacket to match my shoes.   I prefer high heeled dark red shoes, a black mini skirt, a white silk shirt, and a dark red velvet jacket.  After work, I love a mini dress paired with a long jacket.  Fashion should suit your body, and show your self-confidence. If you are not sure about your outfit, don’t wear it.  Remember, you can’t go wrong with a white shirt, black mini dress or a pair of jeans that fit you just right. 

Lizzy:  How do you keep up with the trends?

Melisya:  I read a couple of fashion magazines a month, and I love to visit the shops.   I look for the best prices, so I do not waste my money.

Lizzy:  That shows good sense!  I agree!
