Going Gomez ... and growing up
Stardoll favorite and New Free doll Selena Gomez has had a very Disney-riffic career to date. Disney gave the actress her launching pad with guests spots on shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana (have you heard of them? Mwhahaahahahaa – evil laughter after obvious question) before she landed her star-making turn spot on Wizards. What would you guess would happen when she was offered a role in High School Musical 3… the third installment in the series that has ruled the tween planet --- and made stars of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale.
You might guess she would keep on riding that HSM3 train all the way to more Disney stardom … astonishingly, Selena turned the role down. “‘High School Musical 3’ is cute, and I think it would be a great opportunity for someone else,” she told the New York Daily News.
“But I passed on it because I didn’t want to do it. I plan to take other roles in acting that are challenging for me. After Disney, I want to be taken seriously as an actress for many years.”
Aiiiiiiight … Go on with your Gomez self.
