Bo Bice (who made it to the final 2 in "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar" (2002) in season 4) influenced him to audition. He does push ups and vocal exercises before he performs on stage. Chris is also an artist. He draws and paints during his free time. He auditioned for "Rock Star: INXS" (2005) but he didn't make it in so he decided to join "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar" (2006) instead. His favorite female pop artist is Kelly Clarkson while his favorite male pop artist is Rob Thomas. He started to sing seriously when he was 16 years old.
