Mental Health & Games: Do You Need Help?

il y a 67 mois

Let's talk about mental health awareness and advocacy. Seeing how MSW season brings so many people online, I want to remind users to take caution through my posts and to recognize self-care is important.

Perhaps, this game is an escape for some, a creative outlet for many, or a way to pass the time no matter the age of the user. Whether you're a minor or an adult, maybe you identify with LGBTQ, are a survivor, or currently experiencing difficult circumstances in your real life. You should know that there are many resources available to you within the game, online and in real  life that can help you.

I found a page in the Help you can check out to find resources if you need them.

Also, there are clubs like ECKAlbum and my own StardollsForum, for members from all walks of life interested in helping and community.

Moreover, here are examples of games interfering with the expected functions of people:
If you procrastinate studies, avoid socialization or work in order to play then you need to be cautious and perhaps seek help.

The World Health Organization recently reported Compulsive Gaming as an officially recognized mental healh disorder.

Your mental health, and self growth are important and if you are struggling, please try reaching out to someone, anyone you can trust.

It is really important to prioritize your health and wellbeing, and to maintain "responsible" gaming and online habits. Games CAN be addictive by design, and it is important to remember real life is more important. Take time to study or do homework, help or talk to a friend, go for a walk or spend time with family, and if necessary seek out a hotline, school counselor, therapist or mental health professional.

Too many people suffer in the shadows, feeling isolated and alone. This is not the way it has to be for anyone. If this is something you can relate to, know that you are not alone, and that we are all in this together.

The SemiColon Project and tattoos promote hope and continuity. Our lives matter.
I choose to keep going.

Please add me or message me if you ever want to talk about real issues.
