July 4th is Independence Day in America. This is a very special holiday to all Americans. The Continental Congress  had Thomas Jefferson write the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  The Declaration was signed on July 2nd and the final document was done of July 4th.

How we celebrate the 4th of July:

1. Family & Friends party

On the 4th of July lots of Americans invite friends and family over for a barbeque and/or grill out. Fun games and conversations are enjoyed, along with good food.

2. Parades & Concerts

Some cities and towns have parades celebrating the 4th of July. Floats, candy and  family fun is enjoyed at the parades. Singers also give concerts to celebrate the 4th of July.

3. Fireworks

The most famous thing about Independence Day in the USA are the fireworks. Some people do them in there backyards with friends and family or people go to there cities firework show. Fun designs and colors are all seen in the shows.

The 4th of July is an important day for Americans. We celebrate independence, family, friends, and most of all, our country on this day.
