Social Butterflies

Breaking out of one's cocoon and becoming a social butterfly is easy for some, but not for the majority! With my school out on break, a few tips have come to my attention through the many social occasions I have had to attend.

1. Break the silence.

I've found that asking to, or getting people to be involved in activities or games is the easiest way possible. Challenges can range from apps to hand games, and they don't accept, then rest assured, you'll have something to talk about. Those elders would never believe that technology could bring people together, much too baffling!

2. If in doubt, food it out!

Food is universal language of love, and one of the most basic human needs. As long as you can cook decently, or buy decent and/or not poisonous food, I'm sure they will be grateful. If, per se, the person does not appreciate the food you have prepared then, remember debates are more fun than awkward silence and thumb twiddling.

3. Be you, but a little more outgoing!

Push yourself out of your comfort zone, and like sheep, they will follow!

What's your most awkward social moment?
